Thus Spake Sw. Vivekananda

[1] Great work can't be achieved by humbugs. It is thro’ love, a passion for truth, & tremendous energy, that all undertakings are accomplished. Therefore manifest your manhood’. [2] ‘To succeed …you must’ve tremendous will power; work hard & you’ll reach the Goal’. [3] ‘Each work has to pass thro’ three stages – ridicule, opposition, & then acceptance. Each man who thinks ahead of his time is sure to be misunderstood’. [4] ‘What work do you expect from men with little breast? You must’ve an iron will if you would cross the ocean you must be strong enough to pierce the mountains’. [5] ‘Even if you’re at your last breath be not afraid. Work on with intrepidity of a lion but at the same time with the tenderness of a flower’. [6] The more we come out & do good to others, the more our hearts will be purified, & God will be in them’. - ON WORK & SUCCESS.


[1] ‘What ever you do for your own sake is not religion’. [2] ‘To devote your life to the good of all & to the happiness of all is religion’. [3] ‘Ask God what H e is. Unless He answers, He is not; but every religion teaches that He does answer’. - ON RELIGION

[1] ‘Our duty is to encourage everyone in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, & strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth’. [2] ‘None will be able to resist truth & love & sincerity. Are you sincere? Unselfish even unto death? Then fear not even death. Onward, my lads’! – ON TRUTH

[1] ‘All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who’ve put our hands before our eyes & cry that it is dark’. [2] ‘Give up that beautiful malice, that dog-like bickering & barking at one another, & take your stand on good purpose, right means, righteous courage, & be brave’. [3] Have you the courage to face any hurdles, however formidable? Have you the determination to pursue your goal, even if those near & dear to you oppose you? – ON COURAGE

[1] ‘You can’t believe in God until you believe in yourself’. [2] ‘God is a circle whose circumference is nowhere, & whose centre is everywhere. When we get out of the limited centre of the body, we shall realize God, our true Self’. [3] ‘He is my love. He is my child. Don’t frighten me by making Him too big, the Creator of the Universe’. – ON GOD

[1] ‘The world is for me, not I for the world. Good & evil our slaves, not we theirs’. [2] My life is more precious than spending it in getting the admiration of the world’. – ON INDIVIDUALITY

[1] ‘When we really begin to live in the world, then we understand what is meant by brotherhood, or mankind, & not before’. [2] ‘Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping, do so. If can’t, fold your hands, bless your brothers, & let them go their own way’. – ON SELFLEENESS

[1] ‘The road to GOOD is the roughest & steepest in the Universe. It a wonder that so many succeed, no wonder that so many fall’. [2] ‘That man has reached immortality who is disturbed by nothing material’. – ON LIFE IN GENERAL

[1] ‘If money helps a man to do good to others, it is of some value; if not, it is simply a mass of evil, & sooner it is got rid of, the better’. – ON MONEY

[1] ‘We need speed in blood & strength in muscles. We want iron arms & steel muscles & not futile thoughts, which brings weaknesses. [2] ‘Two things controls man’s character: Strength & Pity’. [3] ‘Character has to be established thro’ a thousand stumbles’ – ON CHARACTER
